"If you are not doing what you love, then start doing it, even if it is only part- time."
- Robert Kiyosaki

Quite often we let the start stop us. That whole expression will be a topic we touch on numerous times, but for today let us just keep it simple.

For many years in my life, I found excuses to not get moving on what I dreamed of. Partially because I was never looking at things in steps, only in the big picture. Sometimes, you want to look at the big picture, but if you look at your dream with the idea that you have to achieve it ALL and RIGHT NOW, well, that can be quite intimidating and defeating. You can become discouraged quite quickly.

So, as I looked at the finish line, I always felt overwhelmed. I didn't have time, or I wasn't good enough to even start to make good strides so, "Why bother?"

The key is in the expression we share today. Even if it is part time, move in that direction. Personal Development, as well as Success - IS NOT A RACE.

For example, if your life offers you limited amount of time to dedicate to your goal - take what it gives you and still use it. Little by little you move forward. As you become more and more involved in your passion... you become better and more focussed with that little time....and gradually this works in your favor as your efforts and gathered knowledge begin to offer you the ability to take bigger steps with that little amount of time. And bigger steps...brings more achievement...more achievement brings more passion and confidence and you must see where this is going.

If you are not doing what you love...start. And in those part time moments, grant yourself one constant... that you will be fully dedicated and focussed in those moments. You may begin to see a less cluttered path that leads directly to your success. In fact, I am sure of it.

Good morning, and welcome to a clean canvas.
What will you create today?

Awaken Your Day - April 22, 2008

"Fall seven times, stand up eight."
- Japanese Proverb

Once again we find some wisdom that is received differently between the times we just hear it in passing, and when we are falling.

I have had a pretty good run.
I hadn't done any self inflicted damage to my car in quite some time.
Until last Saturday.

For sure it could have been a "fall" that would be hard to get up from.
Surprise snowfall, slippery roads, and a very unexpected slide all led to The Big Bang theory between my front tire and an unforgiving curb. The theory, by the way is Loud Crunching Bang= Money Out of Wallet.

Now this could really ruin a day ( or few )...or you can roll with it. So here is how I roll.

I discovered that the tire was not flat, so i drove home with my rim in a real bad state. The wheel didn't do any flip flops like my ten speed tire that was shaped like a half moon that time I was showing off for the girls and did a lip stand. Nope, it was still rolling. You could say that helped a guy stand up.

My mechanic is not in on the weekend, so we must roll on. I did not want to buy a brand new rim, as my mechanic can get me one used... so we have to wait but we roll on.

Monday comes, we drop off the tire, he can help us....and his price is much better than dealer.
So, that is good. Unfortunately, we miss a day of work. But we get the tire later, and once again not as much as we expected - that is something to be happy about. My mechanic is a good friend, and he treats his customers well.

Now thru all of this there was opportunity to take "falls" and turn them into much much more. The reality however is that it happened. I hit the curb. I did not do anything reckless, but none the less, the curb does not move; car parts do. But, I stayed calm. Made a call. Got some help. Paid some money. It could have been much, much worse.

My long winded point, is that we encounter many "falls" thru our days. Some totally unexpected, and some we can look back and see how they were coming. It is not how you fall or why, it is how you get up and that first step forward after you do.

Brush it off...catch your breath...and on we roll.

Oh, I put the tire back on. Looks nice. But... something is bent. We drop it off tomorrow for an alignment and an investigation into that nasty metal sound. Big Bang Theory. Please be careful of falling objects.

One more time, I feel my hands flat on the ground, as my leg comes up and I plant a foot, and I push myself up to my feet. Sometimes, things happen. Anger will not change any of it.

You may fall today, but then, you WILL get up.

Good morning.

"Allow me to be a blessing to you and allow yourself to be a blessing to others."
- John Coonley, Cancer Survivor

I ask that you might take forward, all of the good you experience.

When you meet and know someone who has qualities that you like, qualities that bring something good to you and your life, absorb those parts so that you may add to and compliment all that you bring to others.

Opportunity Monday; what better time to start being more aware, of all that we can pick up from others, and all we can give of ourselves?

Have a wonderful week.
