AYD - Jan 25, 2013 - Find the Relief

"I think I did pretty well, considering I started out with nothing but a bunch of blank paper."
- Steve Martin

Assignment Friday.
Clean your slate.
Lay out a fresh canvas.
Clear your mind.
Breathe deeply.

You do not have to throw out your original "To Do" list for the weekend.  But you do have to gather up any of your anxiety, tension, feelings of being overwhelmed, dread, etc etc.... Gather it all up, and sweep it off the mental table right into the trash bucket.

I suggest you close your eyes, breathe deep and actually imagine that you are sweeping a pile of written words like you might see in a children's book... sweep the pile with your hand right into an imaginary bucket.  Close the bag.  Toss it out.  You have a clean table in front of you.

When you get your clean table...come back to this point.

( Insert elevator music while we wait....)

Ready?

Assignment Friday.  Hit the Refresh button.
We all have things to do on our "free" time away from our weekday commitments.  One of the things we often forget to do first is to regroup, refresh, reorganize... and begin Fresh Minded and more prepared for success.

Part two... when you come to the end of your alloted time for tasks ... Review.  Review your successes FIRST - before you even consider looking over things you did not complete, or new tasks you created along the way.

Refresh.  Begin your Actions.  Focus on enjoying the results.  Review any Progress.  Congratulate successes.

I feel very strongly you will sleep great Sunday nite, and Monday will enjoy compounded positives from you following this simple formula.

Have a great Weekend.  Be prepared to share your homework with others on Monday.  Your good story may just inspire others to want the Formula.

AYD - Jan 24, 2013 - They Have to Have You

"Every good product I've ever seen is because a group of people cared deeply about making something wonderful that they and their friends wanted. They wanted to use it themselves. "
- Steve Jobs, 1955-2011, Apple

You ever meet someone that is just great to be around?
Maybe a great attitude, combined with good sense of humor, intellectual but not arrogant , successful but not conceited... just a good person to have around at any time?

Even better, did you know someone who had a group of friends like that, that just complimented each other's personalities well and as a group were just a magnet of great times and feelings?  Were you part of a group like that?

Every good product I've ever seen is because a group of people cared deeply about making something wonderful that they and their friends wanted. They wanted to use it themselves

Be that great person...that great product.  The kind you would care about and be drawn to.  Be that person, and others will want to be that person with you, and be that influence for themselves as well.

We are a product of our own choosing.  And I have to say, you are allowed to feel really good about the product you have made of yourself, when friends share that you are that person they really like to be around.

For even a moment today, be that product.
Good morning, great day. Pierre Couturier Husband, Daddy, Author and Just the Right amount of me to be a fun guy to have around.

AYD - Jan 22, 2013 - A Painting in Mind

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."
- Henry Ward Beecher

Maybe you have never pondered, what a portrait of you may say.
What stories the lines might illicite from the curiousity of others.
How your eyes would hold secrets, or your smile show the real you.

It might be fun to consider how you would choose to pose for one of those formal, all about you paintings.  You know the ones you see in the huge sitting rooms, in those movies of the 1800's?  The larger than life painting of the head of the house, rising tall above the fireplace.  You might even have someone toasting to your image.

Why not?
Why not paint a picture?  Now, if you are anything like me, you are allergic to paint brushes.  They make my hands make anything but a straight line.  Cannot begin to translate vision to canvas... nope, nope, nope.  I can however, sit back, imagine, and paint a thought with the best artists alive.

Start your day off with a moment of your own.  Filled with a daydream painting of you.  How would it look?  Try to avoid those feelings of doubt to the images you really want to paint...and just for the moment grant your imagination the freedom that we all so desperately need to entertain.

Dip your imaginary brush into your very real soul, and ask yourself how you would like to be presented.
10 feet tall.... above a fireplace in a huge ballroom... with every guest gazing upon the wonderous image of all of your very best qualities, captured in color on a canvas.

Paint a tribute to you this morning.  Take but 2 minutes of fun imagination time to yourself.  I grant this to you.  And when you are finished, and you stop to feel good about the smile ...  please, carry that picture around with you tucked neatly in your pocket for the day.  Pull it out and look at it.  Feel the image come alive.

Enjoy your own day...because you are in it.

Good morning.
Your paints are ready.

AYD - Monday Jan 21, 2013 - Not Always Serious.

"I wonder what piglet is doing, said Pooh, I wish I were there to be doing it too."
- Winnie the Pooh

Opportunity Monday.
Your opportunity, should you choose to accept it, is to make a connection.  A reconnection.

It happens often in life.  A moment we find ourselves reminded thru something simple, yet unexpected, of a name we had not thought of in awhile.
Maybe a reminder from a television show, or a joke, or something we see as we go about our day.  Often it is when we run into someone from our past, and we work our conversation around until inevitably we say, "Hey, have you seen Bill?  I have often wondered how he ended up or where he is at now."

Well, wonder no more.

Opportunity Monday says you have the opportunity, while the idea is fresh, to call up old Bill...or Sally, or John Frank Mary Joe Gertrude.... or the yearbook; no matter...just take the first step.

In this day of Social Media, you may have already made the connection...now just make contact.

They may be an old friend, but somehow the smile they bring to us always feels fresh, and just what the day had been missing.

Good Morning
