AYD - Friday, Feb 22 - Delaying Success

"If you wait for tomorrow, tomorrow comes.  If you don't wait for tomorrow, tomorrow comes."
- Author Unknown, African Proverb

We talked about Riding the Wave of Success...not sitting on the shore watching other people enjoy it while we wait for it to come to us.

Why wait until tomorrow?
Why delay your Successful moment?

Are you waiting?  Or are you creating?

Have a great, successful weekend.

AYD - Feb 21, 2013 - And in this corner...

"There's only few people who have strength to honor someone's achievement without envy."
- Aeschylus

Can you be in someone else's corner?
Cheering them on.

Or, can you be in someone's corner - watching and learning..giving credit where credit is due?

Can you applaud the differences between your own successes and theirs?
Are you able to see the Why and How they accomplished their achievements?
Are you able to use their success as a helpful reference for your own?

Riding the wave of success includes picking up some balancing tips along the way.

Whichever path you want to follow, someone may very well have walked it before you.
Respect that they may know some things about this path that would benefit you.

Honor them by asking.  Do not want the result they have, rather long for the experience of getting there, and then the Journal of your journey will be the frame around your success.

Giving back includes giving respect for the people that created the path you now choose to explore.

Good morning.

AYD - Feb 19, 2013 - Ride the Wave of Success

"All personal achievement starts in the mind of the individual. Your personal achievement starts in your mind.  The first step is to know exactly what your problem, goal or desire is."
- W. Clement Stone

Did you find a level of success this last weekend?  Did it find you?

My mission was to boldly go where I thought I could not.  Did I do anything spectacular?  No.  Did I do something my procrastinating mind thought there was no time for?  Yes.  Do I feel good about the achievement?  Enough to consider it a mark in the "Success" column?  Yes.  Is the success something I can build on and use it to climb to another check mark?  Yes.

Yes.

Yes, I can.

This last weekend I did a little bit of everything.  Not major front page news, no.  But what was extraordinary about it was that everything I did, I did without haste or judgement and without comparing it to the list of still to do.  I did not guage my success against the backdrop of all that was still to be done.

A little quality family time.  Some focus on my son's big moments.  Some help around the house.  Some decorating with my wife.  A little decluttering of my work notes.  Some R & R.

What can I build on?  Some nagging tasks around the house are done and gone, so I can see clearly the priorities of the next few.  Not overwhelmed. Some new items are hung on the walls, reminding me of achievement, and they act as motivation to keep moving forward.  Little things like that.  Little building blocks whose value I took the time to calmly recognize and appreciate.

Every achievement is what you make it.  One small step for you...one giant leap for your drive.

And onward we go.

Good morning.
Good moving...forward.
