Awaken Your Day - April 11, 2008

"The shortest path between here and everything you want: start being grateful for all the things you already have."
- Dr. Glenn Pickering

And now, the real suggestion for the day - don't just read the words. Listen to them.

So often today we hear nice thoughts and words and having heard them before, they have this resemblance or familiarity. In our mind we read and it is like skimming across the surface. Our sensors pick up a few triggers and we acknowledge what is already familiar and in our awareness and, "Ya, I got it. " Like speed reading really. Picking out what connects, but not taking the time to sink into the full depth of what is there. Like ordering a great steak, and then telling the waiter to hurry you have to be somewhere. Did you taste the fact that your steak had marinated in a great sauce over nite and there was some wonderful enjoyment of a perfectly prepared meal, waiting for you ... but - it all ended up being ... "steak, i know i like it, done this way, yup that is it, chew, what time is it, gotta go!"

It is the same so often when we hear again some real true wisdom that has crossed our path in different ways over the course of our lives.

"The shortest path between here and everything you want: start being grateful for what you already have."

"...Oh, ya, heard that before, Thankful, what I have, already, right, like car, house, family, got it, ya, sure is good, so nice advice, what?" .... with that,we label, catagorize in memory file #245 and place it in mind cabinet 6 - third drawer down and about half way back. Okay, filed away, skimmed it, got it.

But... what does it mean? To be grateful for what we already have.
Sadly, so often, we discover the meaning when tragedy finds it's way into our life.

Take a look around you this weekend. Be grateful not because someone told you too.

Be grateful because it feels good. It helps you stop, and feel good more often; it helps you see how far you have come and reminds you of what in your life helped get you here.
Who doesn't need a self induced reminder to enjoy their life?

Good morning.

"Shared laughter creates a bond of friendships. When people laugh together, they cease to be young and old, teacher and pupils, worker and boss. They become a single group of human beings."
- W. Lee Grant

Sometimes I really do not need to say much more.

Have a good morning, and may you find opportunity to share a laugh - often.

"It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult."
- Seneca ( 5 B.C. - 65 A.D.)

Isn't there something you should be doing?
If the most difficult thing is finding the time ...

And, have a good morning.

Awaken Your Day - April 8, 2008

Sometimes, we find ourselves in an uncomfortable position. One where a tough choice needs to be made. We are not happy where we are, but we are afraid of the unknown, and so we do not know if we should take this leap into something new.

Do you remember what it was like, the first time venturing to the deep end in a swimming pool, when you could not touch the bottom? Think about it. Nothing secure. Nothing for sure. Bit of panic. And fighting for a breath when you head dipped under? And all the while, you are thinking, “I could have just stayed in the shallow end where I knew I could stand around out of danger.”

We do not feel the fun of a new venture, because we are too busy focusing on the feeling of fear of what this unknown could bring. Failure? No bread crumb trail back ? What if? And What If... and don't forget...What if?

Maybe you are at a crossroads of some type. Maybe you are in a job you don’t like, like someone close to me was, and you are scared to leave and try something new. The choice was stay in a place where she knew she was good at what she did ( but also miserable inside because she was more than what she was doing), or she could take a plunge, and challenge herself and try something new that actually had followed the Law of Attraction and found her!

It may be your job, or maybe your relationship, the one constant with us all at these times seems to be the doubt. We seem to just get programmed to be so comfortable with what is familiar, even if it is bad, because at least we know what to expect. We worry if the decision is the right one because we worry about finding ourselves in a tougher situation than the one we hope to improve on. That worry, leads many of us to stop before we start. Often, it is the difference between Victim, and Victor.

If I may suggest, like I did before,

Should you find yourself at the end of all your tolerance, should you find that the future looks the same as all the yesterdays and therefore holds nothing new for tomorrow, should you find yourself deciding to walk away from what you think is all you know … now, NOW… be strong. And instead of taking the dark cloud of doubt with you, you should pack up all of the hard work that you know you did, and all of the experience and the relationships you built so well, make sure not to forget all your growth from this “place”, and don’t forget to pack all of the confidence your personal success moments offer you. You have grown. Now take all of that toward the light of relief that is your choice of further growth. Let the burden of the yesterdays fall behind you and only carry with you the Successes . In other words....don't regret and don't dwell on what could be considered fearfully as "lost" ( time invested, familiar surroundings, etc...). Rather, you should think only of what you are free to achieve with the growth you have achieved.

Think it thru with strength and confidence. Look at the rewards with all the knowledge you bring, and play your cards like the professional life designer you are. And if you need a hand, we are right here to help you.

Success asks only one thing of you.
That when you take that first step toward it, you must be looking forward to it.

“Gazing constantly into yesterday, I do not walk into the light, but directly into the light post.” - Pierre

Good Morning, good day … good choices.
I believe in you.

"There are no guarantees, but being ready sure beats being taken by surprise."
- Donald Trump

Funny how life's lessons always seem to come back around and we get that moment of full understanding.

I was a boy scout, and for those of you who may not know, our motto was "Be Prepared". At least I think that it was. I might have to dig out my old handbook just to be sure. But the point being is that I did not fully grasp back then all the applicable meaning behind the one statement.

Now I do. Being prepared for anything helps it go smoother really. Taxes, job interview, cleaning the cat litter.... and yes, even Monday.

As I have mentioned before, Monday should be looked upon as a Beginning. The kick start to all you will accomplish this week. In the 100 meter dash, the start is tremendously important. On Friday as you look back over your week...alot of your momentum comes from these moments right now.

Put on your game face. Look at your goals. You have a plan.

Drivers, start your engines!

Good morning - good start - Glad to see you came prepared.
