AYD - Jan 22, 2013 - A Painting in Mind

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures."
- Henry Ward Beecher

Maybe you have never pondered, what a portrait of you may say.
What stories the lines might illicite from the curiousity of others.
How your eyes would hold secrets, or your smile show the real you.

It might be fun to consider how you would choose to pose for one of those formal, all about you paintings.  You know the ones you see in the huge sitting rooms, in those movies of the 1800's?  The larger than life painting of the head of the house, rising tall above the fireplace.  You might even have someone toasting to your image.

Why not?
Why not paint a picture?  Now, if you are anything like me, you are allergic to paint brushes.  They make my hands make anything but a straight line.  Cannot begin to translate vision to canvas... nope, nope, nope.  I can however, sit back, imagine, and paint a thought with the best artists alive.

Start your day off with a moment of your own.  Filled with a daydream painting of you.  How would it look?  Try to avoid those feelings of doubt to the images you really want to paint...and just for the moment grant your imagination the freedom that we all so desperately need to entertain.

Dip your imaginary brush into your very real soul, and ask yourself how you would like to be presented.
10 feet tall.... above a fireplace in a huge ballroom... with every guest gazing upon the wonderous image of all of your very best qualities, captured in color on a canvas.

Paint a tribute to you this morning.  Take but 2 minutes of fun imagination time to yourself.  I grant this to you.  And when you are finished, and you stop to feel good about the smile ...  please, carry that picture around with you tucked neatly in your pocket for the day.  Pull it out and look at it.  Feel the image come alive.

Enjoy your own day...because you are in it.

Good morning.
Your paints are ready.
