Awaken Your Day - May 8, 2008

Do you talk to yourself in the car?
I have been doing some soul searching lately. Being honest with myself about some changes that are long overdue.

With that comes a variety of thoughts and memories and thoughts and opinions and questions and thoughts.... and often you really don't know when the whole inner search engine is going to rev up - like in the car - on the way to work.
It really feels good. Talking to yourself. Don't be shy. Really, I mean if someone catches you at a red light on your way to work, getting all into this one sided convo - just leave five minutes later the next day and you may never see them again. ( Or, hopefully he sees you do it everyday and you become comic relief for them and you enhance a life. )

But my point is, you cannot be shy with yourself when you are in deep search mode on your life, or dreams or just trying to find the root of the mood you are in. They say you are supposed to "dance like no one is watching" - and I take that right into "talk like there is no one to impress."

So, I came across something the other day, and it struck me that sometimes, we really need to get back in touch with who we are, for many reasons. Life goes on so busy around us, that we forget to sit back and just think about what makes us who we are. And we need to stimulate the mind, on the topic of Ourselves.

"Who am I? What do I stand for? What is my purpose? How do i maintain my sense of self in this chaotic, unpredicatable world? How do I infuse meaning into my life and work? How do I remian renewed, engaged, and stimulated?"

I found this passage in "Success Built to Last", co-authored by Stewart Emery. Look him up.

As I read it, I came to a moment where I thought about it, and it hit me that I have not sat down to get reacquainted with ME in a long time. I have a dream, and a passion and I am working on a goal that I touch with my heart and mind, I have a good life and I know it....but where and how did I begin to touch this road I am on? Who am I? What is my purpose? and so on... and so on....
We just don't do this anymore.

Take a few moments to yourself. No phone. No clock. Just good old, "Me, myself & I".
And ask yourself these questions. Don't be shy, for it is just you and ... you. But, the honesty you give yourself, bound by your own confidentiality, may just open your heart, eyes and mind to a world of abundance. You see, my goal is to help you see that you are permitted to feel gratitude toward yourself. That you can be thankful for the life you lead, and whom you have become. You must - if you want to achieve greater success - in any way.

And then, when you feel good about it all - and you have retraced some thought and memory and retouched an emotion or a feeling - you may just find a little more belief within you - and we have discussed what happens with Believing in yourself.

Who am I? Unlimited.
What do I stand for? Shared happiness and abundant life.
What is my purpose? Finding Prosperity and abundance in all areas of my life as I help others do the same.
How do I infuse meaning into my life and work? Tim Horton's coffee. :)

And by the way - the light is green.

Good morning.
