"You become great by doing small things in a great way."
- Zig Ziglar
There is someone in your day, that makes a huge difference.
Often times, it is someone we unintentionally take for granted. They do their part so well, we just come to expect it.
We may comment on it to others occasionally, but then often, the thought and recognition are gone.
It is not enough for me to say that you should acknowledge someone that fits this outline. I would like you to do two things.
Think of someone who does some task around your day. A task or tasks that do not often get caught on the radar, but they do them well, and it is like the grease that keeps the gears revolving smoothly. Consider for an extended moment the value effect of their doing those tasks well. What impact does that ripple forward for your benefit.
Consider that, and then express gratitude to them in some non-routine way. Would you want to receive a simple pass-without-pause hand shake and a mumbled thanks for something you do? No, so apply some genuine you to the gesture.
And now, for a little self care. Consider something you do. Maybe some small, no capital letter event that you pull off each day. Ask yourself if you do that small thing in a great way. If you do, reach up...way up...and give yourself an acknowledging Grandma squeeze of the cheek.
If you don't do something small in a great way .... I challenge you ... could you?
Become Great today... in a small way.
Good morning.
