AYD - Oct 3, 2012 - Only You Can Measure Your Desire

"Where success is concerned, people are not measured in inches, or pounds, or college degrees or family background; they are measured by the size of their thinking."
- David Schwartz

If you think you want to make or save $10, your mind will think of ways and means to get to $10.
Collect some bottles.
Check the couch for change.
Clip some coupons in grocery flyer.

If you think you want to make or save $1000, your mind will push past previous limits and think of larger scale ways and means to get to $1000.
Collect bottles everyday, take your bike and some garbage bags.
Check the part time ads in the paper for some weekend work.
Browse thru all the flyers for additional savings and check the internet for more special offers.
Clean the garage and see what you can sell off.
Ask about overtime at the jobsite.

The size of our goal, automatically increases the size of our thoughts on the possiblities and opportunities to achieve.

This is a basic example, but it shows you that we limit our own efforts by thinking to the limits of a situation or moment.

If you have a project at work, do not just meet the deadline because then we pace our efforts to arrive Just In Time.  Beat the deadline, and then step back and list the benefits of giving more thought and energy up front.

If you have a goal you wish to achieve, do not just think of it;  write it down.  Give it legs by listing the steps you need to address.  Break it into sizable and achievable pieces... and watch your energy meter pulse as you see the clarity from more sizable amounts of productive thinking.

Think beyond the general outline.  Look thru the finish line to a spot 10 meters beyond, and make that your goal.

Expand your thinking, expand your success, expand your appreciation for what you gain and achieve.  It has a very nice flow to it.

If you will excuse me, I need to practice my own words ... and focus on an overdue project.
Good morning...
Great thinking with you.
