"Some people dream of success, while others wake up and work hard at it."
- Author Unknown
I have been a dreamer most of my life.
It started out as just a daydreamer. Okay, most of the time I was a daydreamer.
But that is okay, for I needed to learn the value and good feeling of dreaming.
I progressed into that kind of dreaming that is a longing - a want. But I had no plan or strategy to go with it. I just wanted things to get better; I wanted symbols that would show the world that my dream came true. It took awhile, but I came to a day when I realized that when I associated "dreams coming true" with something, it was only those empty symbols I saw pictures of. My real dream did not have a picture, I was just dreaming of attaining symbols that might represent a life that symbolized happiness and success.
What I was in fact still missing, was my true Dream - defined and before me as a goal to reach for. It did not have a picture, a face and so...how could there be a path to get to it? I could not explain to even myself the true life that I desired.
As you know, a special day found me. I found within me that definition that finally cleared away so much clutter. And, if you remember, what did I do? Well, I figured I could identify it, so now it was going to just all nicely fall into place. And I was excited !
I was so excited...that I did nothing. Just waited for life to grab me and give me a free express ticket. For now I knew who I wanted to be, and what I wanted to do. And I waited.
And, while I waited, I waited some more ... and I began to daydream, about all that success that would come to me now.
Not the cycle I will allow myself to get into again.
This morning is different. I have the day off. And ... something in me is driving me forward. I told myself that I wanted to sleep in. I awoke at 5:15 a.m. You may not understand, but with the way my mind and heart are racing this morning, THAT IS sleeping in.
I have work to do, and success to create. After all, I am a Prosperity Designer - in my health, my marriage, my day to day relationships, and in my finances. Mostly, in the plan for my success.

Awaken Your Day - May 15, 2008
Once again we find the right words, on the right day to act as a reminder of what we already know, but needed a refresher.
Taken from John C. Maxwell's, "Developing the Leader Within You" - I would like to share something that pertains to everyone. Wheather you be a student, or an executive, a dreamer or already a big success; this exercise applies.
Start Small
What you are going to be tomorrrow, you are becoming today. IT is essential to begin developing self-discipline in a small way today in order to be disciplined in a big way tomorrow.
A Small Plan that Will Make a Big Difference
1. List five areas in your life that lack discipline.
2. Place them in order of your priority for conquering them.
3. Take them on, one at a time.
4. Secure resources, such as books and tapes, that will give you instruction and motivatoin to conquer each area.
5. Ask a person who models the trait you want to possess to hold you accountable for it.
6. Spend fifteen minutes each morning getting focused in order to get control of this weak area in your life.
7. Do a five-minute check up on yourself at midday.
8. Take five minutes in the evening to evaluate your progress.
9. Allow sixty days to work on one area before you go to the next.
10. Celebrate with the one who holds you accountable as you show continued success.
Remember, having it all doesn't mean having it all at once. It takes time. Start small and concentrate on today.
One step at a time, we begin to create. A master piece comes to life with feeling and dedication - not a deadline. Your life design, is really your masterpiece.
One step at a time - right after that first one.
Good Morning, good dreaming, good start.

Awaken Your Day - May 14, 2008
A little late today, sorry.
The week is progressing, and once again I find myself busy with a list that may not be achievable for the weekend coming. But then... who says I cannot do all the things I need to do, so that I am then free to fully enjoy all those things I want to do.
So I will listen to Edgar Guest.
It Couldn't Be Done
Somebody said that it couldn't be done,
But he with a chuckle replied
That "maybe it couldnt," but he would be one
Who wouldn't say so till he'd tried.
So he buckled right in
with the trace of a grin on his face.
If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
Somebody scoffed: "Oh, you'll never do that;
At least no one ever has done it";
But he took off his coat and he took off his hat,
And the first thing we knew he'd begun it.
With a lift of his chin and a bit of a grin,
Without any doubting or quiddit,
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn't be done, and he did it.
There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start in to sing as you tackle the thing
That "cannot be done," and you'Il do it.
It might be working on the new business.
It might be cleaning the garage.
It might be saying sorry.
Or, it might be taking two giant steps toward a dream come true.
It can be done - so let's do it.
Enjoy your Wednesday... momentum picks up from here.

Awaken Your Day - May 13, 2008
"Fix your eyes forward on what you can do, not back on what you cannot change."
- Tom Clancy, Author
Setbacks.
They are a part of many goals, and dreams. Not all of us can be blessed with doing things perfectly the first time out; and to be honest I am not sure if I would like to have it that way.
I learn through application. I learn more from the "setbacks" along the way through that application. Mostly, I learn to appreciate even more, my achievement when I get there.
Setbacks of any kind, can be turned into the basis of a leap forward later on. You get a chance to regroup, lift your head up and readjust your vision on where you are going.
Much like my motorcycle course this last weekend. Some of you may recall that I am taking the course as a first step to this goal of going on a round the country bike trip in a couple years.
The course was good. But I had a setback. I had some definite trouble managing the bike and keeping my balance in "slow speed" exercises. And with that, I could not manuver the figure 8, and so I failed my riding test.
It is not over. Sure I was a little disappointed, but I am now armed with a solid awareness of what I need to work on and just how important that skill is to my overall riding a motorbike. I am also aware that if I can work on practicing that control, my riding experiences will be more enjoyable all around for it will give me much more function with the bike.
One of the rules in learning how to ride a motorcycle and handle it well, is always keep your head up and you should be looking ahead to where you are going, and not down at the ground rushing by. When you look down, one of the things you do is put your foot down....and Stop.
What a great way to connect the same result when we let our heart, and mind and passion drop away from looking straight into our goals and dreams. We get distracted, with a setback maybe, and we take our eye off of our destination ... and our spirit, or our effort, goes down with our eyes.
All weekend, they were telling me - "Head up... look to where you are going."
I looked down at the corners of a figure 8, knowing I had already beaten myself.
Soon, I am going back.
A setback helped me understand the connection between learning this skill, and believing in a goal. Now I get to use that as my support, to boost me back up, and to take a big step forward.
I can do this.
