Awaken Your Day

"Four short words sum up what has lifted most successful individuals above the crowd; a little bit more. They did all that was expected of them and a little bit more."
- A. Lou Vickery, writer

Another of my favorites from this last year. Funny it should find me this morning. I owe it to a few people, as well as to myself, that I have it in me, to admit I need to still do, a little bit more.

How about you? Still reaching for those results? Just recognize you can still reach, a little bit more.

Good Morning.

Pierre

Awaken Your Day - June 25, 2008

Do you have a "Daily"?

Something you make sure you must do "daily"?
Your little ritual.
Your must do habit.
A thing. A moment. Something that you have established that just must be or you convince yourself that nothing for the rest of the day is right unless ... you attain your daily.

Hmmm... I wonder if that "daily" makes you money. Or, I wonder if that "daily" makes you more frustrated than it is worth? Or, does it do you the right amount of good, so that you can bring out the best in the rest of your day? What power does your "daily" have over you?

For most of us it is just a distracting symbol on which we falsely place our attention, focus and statement of results. Honestly, it manipulates the balance sheet quite often for most of us.

Some of us choose to put a whole lot of energy on some "daily" commitment that means nothing to our overall success. Come on, personal time is personal time but don't you dare use it in an arguement as to what you need to feel relaxed, over what you need to succeed in obtaining your goal.

Some people have that coffee. And without it..." Oh, I was running late, I just can't function without my morning coffee. I am just off. "

Or, the alarm goes off... and they reach for a cigarette before they have even drawn 3 solid breaths - not to mention the 10 we recommend.

But don't get me wrong, not all "daily's" are "bad".

Some go to the gym.
Some talk to their friends.
Some read the paper.
Some go for a run.
Some invest time and money.
Some look at their goals and adjust the sails.

Point is, there are good, and there are bad things we commit to for a daily routine. Some of us work for a goal in mind with this daily. Some of us just manage to survive and only live once they get this thing daily.

For those of you that find the energy and focus to commit to a passion, I aplaud you. It is not always easy. If visiting your passion is your daily, then I imagine I have heard about you, or read your story.

For those of you whom rely on what the rest of us deem as a crutch, well then it is time for truthful tough love. Is your daily aiding you in any endevour you have chosen to obtain a definition of success?

I challenge you.
Over the course of the last year, I have come to understand more deeply, the power of a forward stepping "daily".

I challenge you. First, to identify a goal. Your goal. You know the one... the one you don't think you have time for. Think of it. Go on, dream and long for it. Costs nothing really.

Now, "Daily", I challenge you to do something that steps you forward to that goal. One step at a time. One step "daily". Big or small, consistantly is the key.

Read a page. Make a call. One less of this, one more of that. A walk, a run. 20 minutes of exercise. 150 calories. One less piece of pie. One less helping of potatoes. One more carrot. Notice one more conversation. One more smile. Live in One more moment. 10 breaths. Stop and recite a goal. Call your mom. Practice something you love. Laugh. Daily.

I would like to see you, find your new "daily". Like Peter Pan had a happy place, I want you to find your happy Daily. The kind that brings you forth to results.

One more thing. Just try, until you feel ready to aim higher, just try to maintain your "daily". Do not get discouraged, it is not a mountain. The whole idea with having your own"daily", is like having an imaginary friend. They are there for you. They are there to just be consistant, so you can be. And when you arrive at your goal, you look back and tell your tale; so often making mention of that one thing... the one thing that got you started, or got you thru.

Find your "daily". Name it if you want. But know this... your daily is one of your assistants to your success. It only wants you to succeed. Don't ask too much of it, but even more important, do not ask too little.

Success is built one step at a time. Some of us need to start taking that step .... "daily".

Good Morning, time to arrive and shine.

Hello to Marq in Cancun who is changing her life with our LPU team- and I can safely predict, this success has become, her "Daily". Congratulations.

Awaken Your Day - June 24, 2008

One of my favorite expressions over the last year.

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson

It says so much all on it's own.
Have a wonderful day, thinking of all the ways you have succeeded.

Awaken Your Day - One Year Together

One year ago, I was in a transition stage of my life. And on the day I made a snap, in the moment decision. A commitment was made to match the passion that was discovered. I had an idea. I took a step forward. Awaken Your Day was born and so came to life something within my dreams.

Never being a man short of words, I just want to keep this simple. Thank you for this year of personal discovery. Thank you for sharing in the beginning of a dream, and shaping the picture into what you will be seeing in the very short coming weeks. Thank you for sticking by us.
If you like what we grow with here, I ask you to please share it and spread the word.

Today another new chapter begins. A new page will turn as I reflect on this last year and all we have done in it. And we will move forward.

Our message today - reflect on your successes, so that you will have all the energy you need to lift your leg when you feel the most tired, and take another step. I look back on this year, and it is time to "rev the engines." I make a promise to my family, and myself and to all that share this journey with us, the best is yet to come.

A new chapter begins today and I hope you are as excited as I am.
It is going to be a fun week.
Welcome to the next station of my dreams - these are exciting times -
And I am STILL - Feeling Good.

Opportunity Monday ...
Do you know where your dreams are?
