Awaken Your Day - Nov 18 - Project "Today"

"All of the great achievers of the past have been visionary figures; they were men and women who projected into the future. They thought of what could be, rather than what already was, and then they moved themselves into action, to bring these things into fruition."
- Bob Proctor

I sometimes in my past took everything at face value.
I would read something and take it for it's obvious application, and did not understand how it may parallel, or be like a template for other areas of life's experiences.

"What is he talking about?" I can hear you ask.
Well, in a simple way - take today's comment. I would get caught on "great achiever", "project into the future", and in my thoughts I would be only thinking of great achievments, and long term goals.

What about today?
What about, right now?
Is this not where I need to see the beginning steps of success, to motivate and spur me on to another...until surely we see those achievements?
Yes, we need to project and see what is to be in order for us to help ourselves believe in what is to be. But, who is to say we cannot follow this same advice and at the same time, scale it down - to the here and now. This moment...before that moment can yet be.

As I said, certain words would trigger me onto a one act play - when if I would just look a little deeper, the thought that makes so much sense to my future success, also assists my present and daily success.

I see the day before me and I project into it...to moments in the middle and at the end. I control the beginning so let me look a little further. I see that the day has a lot in store, with numerous obligations and commitments. I see that I may get stressed or hurried; surely that potential is there. I will accomplish things, but will it be enough so that I am not burdened with it when I leave the office for the day?

That is what already is there - awaiting to lay out the pattern of the day.

Now, I have seen it and am aware of it. And now, I can plot a new course. I see the day has alot in store, and with some decisive action I know I can do this, this and that before the first morning meeting. I can share this and ask another team member to handle that. I can remove the stress with decisive action, that will in turn move me toward more of a desired outcome.

More of a "what can be" instead of accepting "what already is."

There is enough to stress me, but why? There is always alot on the go. This much we know, and this much we are aware of. I have the tools to be aware of the day ahead, and the tools to act so that what is / was, does not have to be the same today.

I project this day, so that as I project tomorrow, or a month into a plan - I am fully equipped to take those strides easily, so that when I achieve the big achievement, it will feel like the whole journey was just a walk in the park.

I simply need to think of today, as I would think of the whole desire.
Every day that we 'Awaken' becomes more fuel to keep our dream machine running on all cylinders.

Good morning - sorry I have been away so much lately.

Awaken Your Day - Nov 12 - Why Wait?

"If we discovered that we only had five minutes left to say all that we wanted to say, every telephone booth would be occupied by people calling other people to stammer that they loved them. "
- Christopher Morley

Why do we wait?
I know we get caught up in the busy play of life, but how is it that we so often overlook the simple things?

Expressing how we feel about those we care about, for their benefit and ours, should not have to become a scheduled item on our agenda. However, if it helps us to bring the expression back to a normal place in our lives, then do it.

Like every Sunday, commit to phoning family and catching up. Or that good friend, whose image is becoming faint and you really don't know what they are up to these days. As we make this commitment to set aside some time on a relaxing day, to make the effort to stay in touch and build on those releationships, it will soon become part of our awareness again, without the schedule.

And dare I say, we will feel a boost like a multivitamin, from the joy that comes from keeping this contact alive and well.

Good morning...don't rush to the phone booth, just be more aware to use it.

Awaken Your Day - Nov 6 - Laugh, At You.

"Once you can laugh at your own weaknesses, you can move forward. Comedy breaks down walls. It opens up people. If you are good, you can fill up those openings with something positive. Maybe...combat some of the ugliness in the world."
- Goldie Hawn, Actress

Have you ever heard someone say, " I bet years from now we will look back at this and laugh" ?
So, why wait for years from now?

Be it a tough moment in our life, a bad experience, or an embarrassing one where we did something we wish we could hit "rewind" on ... we would do ourselves well if we established our landing strategy in order to maximize our potential rebound.

We need to be able to take the moment for what it is, and not dwell ourselves into a despair pit but instead, pause...identify... shake our head with a little giggle, and begin the recovery right then and there.

"Well, I sure messed that up... Here we go!"

As Goldie states, being able to find the humor in our own weaknesses is a great asset. We cannot be perfect at everything. We are all strong and special in our own way, and we will encounter times when we need to admit that we are not strong in other areas.

Often, these moments find us, and that is when we need to be able to laugh at ourselves.
You will most certainly find that people laugh with you when you have a level of acceptance about a situation, rather than laughing AT you as you struggle to be free of the whole experience.

As you go thru the day, take a moment to reflect on some moments that outline your "weaknesses".
Can you turn "now" into that time when you look back and laugh at something that has happened?
And can you carry that good natured humor forward to something or sometime more recent.

I, for example, have to giggle at myself in something like traffic. I will get all bent out of shape over something another driver did. Rant. Rave. Explore my negativity for no real reason other than needing an outlet.

And then five minutes later somewhere in traffic, I do the exact same thing that guy did.
( No signal light is common.) And I am glad when the "A-ha" moment slaps me solidly, and I do enjoy laughing at myself when it happens. ( My wife even joins in. )

Good morning - good humor - we all need it.

Awaken Your Day - Nov 4 - A Little Bit More

"It's the little things you do that make a big difference. What are you attempting to accomplish? What little thing can you do today that will make you more effective? You are probably only one step away from greatness."
- Bob Proctor

One step.

When we just stop to consider Bob's words for a moment - one step. One step away from succeeding. One step away from doubt, and negativity and into the path of the goal you seek.

We can see and feel that really, anything we want is within our grasp. We just need to do that one little extra thing sometimes and we are rewarded with the compounded success.

You have desires, and dreams and goals. Or you have some thing today even - like a meeting or an interview. What one little thing can you do, to bring out the best and make you that much more successful.

Don't make it difficult, for this whole philosophy is that often, one step of "a little bit more", is all it takes to reach the top.

Good morning. Have a very enriching day.
