"Stress is an ignorant state. It believes that everything is an emergency. Nothing is that important."
- Natalie Goldberg
The week begins with the highest level of negative predictions. These predictions are fueled often by the stress we create thinking of all that must be done ...deadlines...catch up....etc etc.
And to add to the pile...we begin now to think about the holidays, and the To Do list that comes automatically with those.
You will get things done.
You will arrive on time.
You will find time for all that requires it.
But most importantly...
You will emotionally, and mentally Relax NOW...
You will not tell yourself that you will relax AFTER all of these 'things'.
Now is your key to controlling and fulfilling the Later.
One breath, one moment ... both right now.
Good morning.
Pierre

Awaken Your Day - November 19 - A word to a thought.
"I like a teacher who gives you something to take home to think about besides homework."
- Lily Tomlin
Allow me not to spoil it by elaborating - rather allow yourself to understand it by revisiting, so that you can touch a moment that brings the explanation all on it's own.
Good morning...and may it be known, that a lesson from a long time ago, may only reach us now, but the value has not diminished.

Awaken Your Day - Nov 18 - Project "Today"
"All of the great achievers of the past have been visionary figures; they were men and women who projected into the future. They thought of what could be, rather than what already was, and then they moved themselves into action, to bring these things into fruition."
- Bob Proctor
I sometimes in my past took everything at face value.
I would read something and take it for it's obvious application, and did not understand how it may parallel, or be like a template for other areas of life's experiences.
"What is he talking about?" I can hear you ask.
Well, in a simple way - take today's comment. I would get caught on "great achiever", "project into the future", and in my thoughts I would be only thinking of great achievments, and long term goals.
What about today?
What about, right now?
Is this not where I need to see the beginning steps of success, to motivate and spur me on to another...until surely we see those achievements?
Yes, we need to project and see what is to be in order for us to help ourselves believe in what is to be. But, who is to say we cannot follow this same advice and at the same time, scale it down - to the here and now. This moment...before that moment can yet be.
As I said, certain words would trigger me onto a one act play - when if I would just look a little deeper, the thought that makes so much sense to my future success, also assists my present and daily success.
I see the day before me and I project into it...to moments in the middle and at the end. I control the beginning so let me look a little further. I see that the day has a lot in store, with numerous obligations and commitments. I see that I may get stressed or hurried; surely that potential is there. I will accomplish things, but will it be enough so that I am not burdened with it when I leave the office for the day?
That is what already is there - awaiting to lay out the pattern of the day.
Now, I have seen it and am aware of it. And now, I can plot a new course. I see the day has alot in store, and with some decisive action I know I can do this, this and that before the first morning meeting. I can share this and ask another team member to handle that. I can remove the stress with decisive action, that will in turn move me toward more of a desired outcome.
More of a "what can be" instead of accepting "what already is."
There is enough to stress me, but why? There is always alot on the go. This much we know, and this much we are aware of. I have the tools to be aware of the day ahead, and the tools to act so that what is / was, does not have to be the same today.
I project this day, so that as I project tomorrow, or a month into a plan - I am fully equipped to take those strides easily, so that when I achieve the big achievement, it will feel like the whole journey was just a walk in the park.
I simply need to think of today, as I would think of the whole desire.
Every day that we 'Awaken' becomes more fuel to keep our dream machine running on all cylinders.
Good morning - sorry I have been away so much lately.

Awaken Your Day - Nov 12 - Why Wait?
"If we discovered that we only had five minutes left to say all that we wanted to say, every telephone booth would be occupied by people calling other people to stammer that they loved them. "
- Christopher Morley
Why do we wait?
I know we get caught up in the busy play of life, but how is it that we so often overlook the simple things?
Expressing how we feel about those we care about, for their benefit and ours, should not have to become a scheduled item on our agenda. However, if it helps us to bring the expression back to a normal place in our lives, then do it.
Like every Sunday, commit to phoning family and catching up. Or that good friend, whose image is becoming faint and you really don't know what they are up to these days. As we make this commitment to set aside some time on a relaxing day, to make the effort to stay in touch and build on those releationships, it will soon become part of our awareness again, without the schedule.
And dare I say, we will feel a boost like a multivitamin, from the joy that comes from keeping this contact alive and well.
Good morning...don't rush to the phone booth, just be more aware to use it.
