"In the absence of clearly-defined goals, we become strangely loyal to performing daily trivia until ultimately we become enslaved by it. "
- Robert Heinlein
Funny...how inspiration can find you anywhere...and slap you in the face with a big fish as if to say, "HELLO...you listening??"
Please excuse me while I sit down and clearly define a goal and work on getting rid of a few chains i have wrapped myself in.
Right when you look for a sign to give you a direction...Pow!!! Right in the kisser. Sometimes a meeting with the obvious might hurt, but it is exactly what we need.
Good morning.

" Life loves to be taken by the lapel and told,' I'm with you kid. Let's go' "
- Maya Angelou
Are you waiting? Or are you Creating?
I had to quote myself and really ask this question to my inner passions recently.
Well...alot of times recently.
What am I doing today, that will get me closer to those goals and dreams that I long to obtain for my family and I?
When it took me longer than 15 seconds to come up with an answer, I knew I did not have a satisfactory one.
So...I made a simple pact with myself, to do a simple gesture. One that I have learned from many successful sources...but somehow had managed to not carry forward for my own progress.
I began by creating a quiet place, and turned off the distractions. You know...the television.
I bought myself an instrumental CD of spanish guitar playing. No lyrics, as they too distract my scattered thought process.
I placed a picture of my wife and son in front of me by my computer. My "Why" in this world, yes they are...and my deepest running motivation to be all I can be.
And then...well then I pulled out a bunch of old and ongoing 'To Do' lists. I reviewed them...actually only a couple of them...all 10 pages each of them. An eye opening punch in the gut.
And I felt what I already knew. Life was passing by while i made lists of unimportant things. Lists that only made me feel more lost and more overwhelmed and ultimately, truthfully, made me further and further away from successfully reaching for a meaningful goal or dream. Too much cluttersome stuff occupying good property in my head.
So, I am now on a decluttering my life mission. One calm step at a time. As I do, I will focus on the consistancy of my little successes and I will breathe as I enjoy the compounding benefits from breaking things into clean and attainable goals.
I am making progress on my dreams .... with one simple, measurable and consistant step at a time. And I can feel it... I can enjoy the moments I now create... and I can remember these feelings. I have been here before. Come on...I'll show you.

Awaken Your Day - January 4, 2012 - Your Impression in Life
"If you're here four more years or four more weeks, you're here right now. I think when you're somewhere, you ought to be there. It's not about how long you stay in a place, it's about what you do while you're there, and when you go, is that place any better for your having been there?"

I have told you before that I believe that if we are sharing moments here each day, you are a unique person. One who has an interest in the depths of who you are. Many of us do not realize that life rolls along, and we are not leaving our own distinguishing mark that we all undoubtedly can.
You are unique, and I believe, Unlimited.
You have a signature. It is my wish that each of us finds it, sees it and leaves it wherever we touch so that everyone else gets the benefit of the best we have to share.
Working on leaving my mark, and hoping to encounter many of yours along the way,
Good Morning.

Awaken Your Day - Sept 23, 2011 - Walking In Your Shoes
" Do not think of knocking out another person's brains because he differs in opinion from you. It would be as rational to knock yourself on the head because you differ from yourself ten years ago. "
- Horace Mann, 1796-1859
Have you ever found yourself doing something new, like playing a sport, or even a new job, and someone better than you gets angry or impatient with you for slowing them down; being in the way?
Funny how they forget that they were just learning once too. How they forget what that was like, and only see you as an obstacle, and an inconvenience.
Remember how you felt at that moment?
Awkward, and intimidated maybe. Out of sorts, and certainly uncomfortable.
Ever wonder if you were the creator of those feelings in someone else...when you acted the very same way?
Consider it.
I do not believe that any of us are without life's ironic lessons. Sadly, they do more good once we experience them and become aware of our own actions.
Awareness is a great friend to have, and even a greater asset. That and an honest capacity for caring about the feelings of others.
Carry that awareness with you today. Make it a "shoe on the other foot" kind of day. Make it a day, without casting a stone, or an unnecessary judgement.
You will thank you later.
