Awaken Your Day - June 13, 2008

"Living conciously involves being genuine; it involves listening and responding to others honestly and openly; it involves being in the moment."
- Sidney Poitier

We pick up on life lessons constantly. As we get older and have more experiences to draw on, the details and the understanding of these lessons slowly take shape.

Quite simply, life can feel like a game of connect the dots. At first, a bunch of little dots on a page and we struggle to see what shape they might make ... and for a time we do not even put our pencil on the first one. And then slowly, we make the move, and a picture begins to take shape.

Being in the moment, and being genuine - living conciously aware of so many of the things we share here each morning. A picture begins to take shape. Quite often we talk about how we must be towards others, and it will return to us. Be genuine, and honest and open. These things also, so very much apply to how we treat ourselves and our quests for success demand that we take care of ourselves in this way.

When you laugh this weekend. Laugh, truly and from your gut. Enjoy that moment.
When you complete something that you have genuinely put in your solid effort, stand back and allow yourself to feel good about your awareness to do it right the first time. Respond to your efforts.
When you live your life as full as you can, take a moment to feel and understand that you are aware of it - and you should feel a rush come over you. Live in that moment. Conciously be alive and take in every thought, emotion, and feeling that comes with it. You are connecting the dots.

A weekend often represents what we call, "My Time".

It really is not just a description of time away from the job. It is a time to recharge your awareness of all the feelings, in all the moments, that we so often forget to touch as we rush thru them. Listen - Respond - to yourself.

Good morning.
