AYD - May 8, 2013 - Balance the Books.

"Kindness is a currency that can cover a multitude of interpersonal debts."
- George Alexiou

I have debts.  Obviously I am not referring to financial here...rather, interpersonal.

Often times, we focus our energies and emotions on hurt feelings from debts we feel are owed to us.  Someone wronged us.  Someone was selfish, inconsiderate, draining, using, abusing,  Someone did not stop to give two hoots about how we would be affected by something they said or did.

Think of a bully in the school yard.  A cut throat climbing the ladder at work.

Picked on, pushed down, stepped on and scapegoated by someone.

But... I am not in the debt collection business.   I will dare say there are people in this life that owe me a ton.  If a picture is worth a thousand words then an explanation is worth a fortune in burdened thoughts.

"Why"  accounts for alot of our emotional baggage budget.

But, I am not in the debt collection business.  Nor should you be.

We cannot always control what return on our past investment we will get back.  We can send out a notice for overdue payment, but many of us feel that only adds compounded interest to the problem, and again, we are not in the debt collection business.

So...it is better then...to look at our books to see where we are in the red.  Look at the list of creditors we owe ... and do something about it.  Take ownership of someone we may have overlooked, or unintentionally pushed to the side and forgotten a gesture or favor, good deed, or their presence in our time of need.

Before we can be at peace and possibly write off bad debts that we feel should come our way, we should first take charge and balance our own books.  Be the vision we look for in others.

Make a donation to kindness .... better still, invest in repayment of kindness ... and begin to Balance Our Books.

Good Morning, Great Day.

Great You, makes a better environment for everyone around you.
