"While we cannot always choose what happens to us, we can choose our responses."
- Stephen Covey
This comes to us in a number of quotes, in a number of different twists and expressions. The concept is the same. Not always easy to remember this right at the moment we need it, so it has to be come part of our auto response beliefs.
Simply think of something in your life that did not go your way. Some kind of set back. Where are you now compared to then. Would you have handled it differently? If we have a self made example of a moment in our life that stands out, we can see our growth, or we can see where we can now grow based on our reflection.
When we gather our internal resources and awareness and take stock of abilities and accomplishments from those times when the going got tough, we can see more within our selves and gain the confidence to tackle new difficult situations as they come with more efficient responses and self control.
There is truth in the cliche, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade."
Think about it.
Good morning, great day.
Greater you, is a better day for those around you.
