" The way we see the problem is the problem. "
- Steven Covey, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
It is always beneficial, to take a moment away from a stressful environment, and breathe.
Pause for perspective. Imagine time has stopped and all you can see is frozen still. Now walk around the situation. Take your time. Examine the snapshot while you have "stepped" away. Allow thought to flow without the strain of rebutal or need to be explained. Look to understand.
Is our view complete? Do we see all the details from our position? Are we responding from a point of vantage, or from an inner podium of emotional charge? Are you still comfortable from your angle?
It is not always about right and wrong. Finding solution is very gratifying.
Are you willing to be part of the solution...to what may not be a problem at all.
Just be aware of the value in a personal "time out".
Good Morning

Awaken Your Day - July 19, 2011 - Only One You.
"There is only one you...Don't you dare change just because you are outnumbered."
- Charles Swindoll
Five things.
Five unique things about you ... that you honestly like about you.
Five things.
Five other unique things, that you are proud of about yourself.
Five minutes.
Five minutes to acknowledge you.
Sometimes, it is a well deserved moment that we take, to just sit back, breathe a relaxed breath...and take stock of some of our achievements, and our attributes. A moment we overlook all too often.
There is only one you. Get reacquainted.
Good morning to you.

Awaken Your Day - April 8, 2011 - The Road You Build Is Your Design
"A successful person is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks that others throw at him or her."
- David Brinkley
Many of you have come to the last leg of the race. Rat race of a working week.
Friday shows you a light at the end of the tunnel; something to reach for; the finish line ahead.
Many of you will enter your weekend feeling like you need a break, and I am sad to say, you may even waste some of this refreshing reprieve from the day to day grind by moaning and complaining about the events of the week and how stressful they were.
WERE.
Past tense.
DONE.
Remember the Finish Line you reached for?
Have you ever seen a marathon runner, finally finish the goal of completing the event, and then ask the reporters and television crew to follow them back along the course so they could see as they remember and retell the crew every place along the way that they stumbled or faced a tough moment?
I would think, you might want to look back, and say, "Ya, it was a tough week...but I made it and now I know I can do it! "
And with that frame of mind...might I ask you just what you are capable of achieving this weekend, with your own time to invest ... in you ?
The road you build is by your design.
Use yesterday's news if you like, but the moment you are in, is much fresher material to mold.
